Amanda Griswold

Photographer - Director - Writer

Amanda Griswold is a Los Angeles based writer, director, and photographer who uses the written and visual mediums to explore the fantastical. A belief that there is magic in even the most mundane moments allows her to surprise and delight as she brings a fresh perspective to familiar subjects.
Her directing credits include the web series ‘Maybe Baby’ and the short film ‘Paper Cranes,’ which was in the 2021 festival circuit. Amanda is currently in post-production on the short film "Buzzkill," which will make it's festival circuit in 2023-2024. As a director, Amanda works to create magic between actors, relying on a clear vision and collaborative conversations to create charisma on screen.
Growing up on 30 acres of farm, where the most excitement was in the pages of books from the local library, Amanda spent countless hours in a tree house reading and developing a keen sense of story. A working script supervisor for over eight years, Amanda knows an audience won’t believe in the impossible if the world doesn’t feel authentic; to that end Amanda’s work is women-centric and emphasizes diversity to reflect the actual world we live in. When characters who feel real engage in dialogue that sounds real, magic can truly happen. Amanda’s goal is to show we are all heroes on this magical journey we call life.
